Draperies

We offer the finest materials available from any number of fabric manufactures which are sewn by one of our suppliers to our specifications and built to "Broadway" industry standards.  Unlike window treatment companies or interior decorating firms claiming to produce theatrical draperies ours are of a higher standard and are built to last.

Our staff is available to assist with your design and specifications beginning with the style and fabric choice you desire including today's inharenlty flame retardant fabrics, which are revolutionizing new industry standards and offer more choices than ever.

From the front Valance & Main Act Curtain to Borders, Legs, Mid-Stage and rear Travelers to Cycloramas and Scrims we can have all of these manufactured to the dimensions, color and weight of fabric desired. We are happy to work with you on choosing the fabric that you desire along with the finish of the drape such as 50% fullness with box pleats.

There are many options offered when finishing a drapery product such as either Jute or Nylon webbing, grommets with s-hooks or hidden snap hooks for the top.  The fabric can be sewn with different fulness and pleats to offer multiple appearances when completed to look very lavish for Valances and Main Act Curtains. They can simply be sewn flat as well if you are considering saving money in your budget as Borders, Legs, and Travelers serve as masking pieces and really do not have to offer a lavish appearance.

When in comes to finish we can also offer such things as "turn back" of finished fabric in the middle of the Main Act Curtain so that if you have people entering or exiting through it audience members see a nice finished drapery. We can also vary the edges of the drapery with how much material is used for the return trailing edge.

We also provide the services of applying flame retardant chemical to draperies that require it.  You should have received an original certificate from the company that produced the draperies.  It should indicate what type of fabric the drapery has been sewn out of and if it is inharently flame retardant or chemically treated.  In New Jersey it is our understanding that if a drapery has been treated it will require treatment within every five years.  Be careful though as we have seen first hand companies that apply flame retardant chemicals applying it to draperies that are inharently flame retardant and therefore damaging the fabric.  This is incorrect as if the fabric is inharent it does not require the aid of a chemical treatment, which will serve to damage the fabric.  We have also seen where companies also incorrectly apply the chemical and do not provide proper coverage.  We also sell the chemicals so that you can treat your own fabric or wood when building your own scenery.

When we have draperies produced for us they are built to our specifications and your desired color and finish.  Whether to an architects specification or your own.  We also have expert sales associates to help you with your selections.

When we have draperies produced for us they will come not only with a flame retardant status certificate but each of the drapes we have produced for us come with a label sewn into the drape that indicates whether the fabric is inharent or treated.  It also has check boxes to indicate the date of manufacture and the first date of treatment if chemically treated.

Bottoms of draperies can be built with multiple finishes as well such as pipe pockets for pipe to be placed in to help the drape keep taught such as a Cyc or side Tabs/Legs.  We can also offer either chain pockets, chain or tape weight sewn in the bottom to offer weight to the bottom of a drapery.
